Meaning of Work Projects

Tony the Cobbler

For "The Meahing of Work" assignment, I took a handful of IUSB students from my digital storytelling course to meet Tony Sergio, a local shoe cobbler. We spent an afternoon listening and recording some of Tony's many interesting stories. Having emigrated as a boy to Germany from Southern Italy seeking employment, and then moving to South Bend in the forties, he had many heartbreaking, hilarious and entertaining stories to share rerarding work, history, love, family, etc...

The following is a rotoscope animation by Erica Weidler, based on the footage we collected.
